Day 102 of 1461

🌿 Teaching

Cherokee Proverb:
“The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears.”

While often interpreted in the context of hardship, this teaching also reflects the value of truth: that beauty and growth only follow honesty—both with others and with oneself. Tears can be a symbol of truth revealed, cleansing the way for understanding and wisdom.

🌞 Significance

In many Native American traditions, truth is not just about not lying—it is about living in harmony with the Earth, your community, and your own spirit. Truth is sacred. It is not a weapon to use against others, but a path to walk with integrity. To speak the truth, especially when it is difficult, shows strength and respect for life.

In today’s world, honesty can feel rare or even risky. But silence or deception, even with good intentions, can break trust and create disconnection. Telling the truth—kindly, humbly, and clearly—is a courageous act that brings light into our shared world. When we speak with honesty, we help build a world where people feel safe, seen, and respected.
