Day 77 of 1461

“For thus says the Lord: ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued; for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.'” -Isaiah 49:25

Significance

This verse reminds us that unfair power and cruelty won’t last forever. It shows a powerful image: people who are trapped or hurt by a cruel ruler will be rescued. It tells us that when people are treated unfairly, there is a greater power that will step in and help make things right. No one who suffers under injustice is forgotten—help will come, and justice will win in the end.

Today, in many parts of the world, people are dealing with unfair leaders and broken systems. Many are fighting for human rights, freedom, and equality. This verse gives us hope. It reminds us that even when the struggle feels long or hard, change is possible. It encourages people to keep going, because justice and fairness are stronger than hate and cruelty. Whether it’s through peaceful protest, speaking out, or working together, people have the power to create real change—and that power is stronger than any system trying to hold them down.

Affirmation

I believe that no force is greater than the promise of freedom.
Even in the grip of the powerful, I will not lose hope.
I am not forgotten. I am not alone.
Justice is rising. Love is fighting for me.
I trust that what holds me captive will not have the final word.
